Singfung Capital makes its sixteenth investment
Capital runs as an evergreen vehicle, backing early-stage companies in core software, applied AI and industrial digitalisation.
Singfung Capital has made its sixteenth investment. From the first to the sixteenth, we have believed in each founder's insight and potential, and have been willing to stand beside them at the most uncertain first step.
What sixteen investments have taught us
Among the sixteen are core-software teams building databases and developer tools, applied-AI companies bringing large models into specific industries, and a growing number of transformation projects: factory digitalisation, data platforms for power stations, the last mile of cross-border logistics. They differ in size, geography and business model, but their founders share one thing — a feel for the detail of their industry that others do not have.
That is what we value most. A good growth curve can be drawn; where customers really get stuck can only be told by someone who lives in the detail every day.
How we invest
All of Capital's money comes from the group and runs as an evergreen vehicle: returns go into new companies rather than out to investors. With no fund term, there is no pressure to exit within a set number of years. First cheques go up to US$5M, with up to US$50M reserved per company for follow-on, so we can decide on the same timescale as founders.
More than money
Portfolio companies can use the group's resources directly: Labs cloud and GPU compute, cross-border network optimisation, and the logistics and installation partners the group has invested in or works with across South-East Asia. Often what an early company needs most is not more money but fewer detours — a channel that opens straight away, or an engineer willing to spend an afternoon on its architecture.
From email to an online portal
Since this year, plan reviews, approvals, disbursements and signing all happen in the online founder portal. Founders can see every step: which review stage a plan is at, what has been approved, what remains available, and the status of each disbursement. Each disbursement is checked by two colleagues and changes to bank details need proof — security and transparency no longer trade off.
What is next
We have widened our scope to transformation in energy, traditional manufacturing and cross-border supply chains. If you are building something that needs time to prove itself — new software, or an old business growing again — we would like to hear about it. Submit a plan through the founder portal, or simply write to us first.
