Working with Revolut to make cross-border payments as easy as a message
The group's multi-currency operating accounts and day-to-day payments move to Revolut Business, making supplier payments and internal transfers faster and clearer.
As we expanded across Asia, Europe and North America, we found ourselves paying equipment makers, data centres and partners in many countries every month, and moving money between group companies. A cross-border payment often took two or three days, and fees and rates were never quite clear. From today, the group's multi-currency operating accounts and day-to-day payments move to Revolut Business.
How long a payment used to take
A typical month: power for the Texas data centre billed in dollars, the London office rent in pounds, Singapore bandwidth in Singapore dollars, while part of our income arrived in Hong Kong dollars and renminbi. Each payment meant converting, wiring and waiting for the other side to confirm; weekends and holidays added days. Our finance team spent more time chasing payments than keeping books.
What changed
- Multi-currency accounts: dollars, pounds, euros, Hong Kong and Singapore dollars and more, each held directly and converted when needed at rates shown up front.
- Faster payments: most supplier payments arrive the same day, often within minutes, and same-currency transfers between group companies are instant.
- Roles and approvals: one colleague raises a payment and another approves it; every one is recorded and visible to finance and management at any time.
- Cards and reconciliation: cloud subscriptions, travel and purchasing moved to virtual cards with receipts snapped and uploaded, so month-end reconciliation is far quicker.
What it means for customers
For customers, the most direct benefit is that we pay data centres and upstream suppliers on time, so capacity expansions never wait on a payment run; and the time finance saves goes into handling customers' billing questions and refunds faster.
What comes next
This is our second fintech partnership, after Wise. Next we are exploring the Revolut Business API for Capital's money movements: Revolut executes the payments while we only raise instructions and record status, never holding client funds. Good tools let us put our energy back into what matters.
